Late addition

Tarsier Lighting Systems will be focusing their production on dynamo lights-> badass.

Tarsier Lighting Systems

My friend Stevel "Knievel" Ziegler makes these here in Gainesville.

He has been making them for a while now, getting all the bugs worked out by letting the Tuesday-Thursday SS crew test their own out every week. They've survived, which says a lot to me.

The quality is excellent. The battery size, run-time, beam pattern, and light output is amazing. I've used his lights in a couple 12 hours and one 24. They've worked flawlessly. I don't own one (I'm poor), but I do borrow them whenever I can, to race...I shelve my DiNottes and Niteriders for these.

He's a really nice guy. He knows what he is doing. He rides his bike better, more often, and in worse conditions than a lot of people I know.

He's finally got a preliminary website up to start making them for people other than the Tuesday-Thursday SS crew. Buy some lights, you will not regret it! It has my full approval!

Have a good Monday : )

(no subject)

I did do the Tally cross race. It was awesome. Won Bs/ should have raced As. I think I'll do another!
I was planning on heading down to Clermont to do the race this weekend but finals are starting to pile up. I've also got a chest full of brown mucus. I'm sick.

Got the new kicks in. I ran in them the other day.
(I just realized I didn't tell you yet-> backtrack)
So I've been running in the Vibrams. They are amazing for trail running. I think I've told you that. They seem to really help me be conscious about my gait. But on long runs (>8mi) I start feeling fatigued in some joints and stabilizing muscles. So I got some new shoes to do my long runs in.
(now we're back)
Got the new kicks in. I ran in them the other day.
They feel pretty damn good and look awesome. I was sick. I'm not sure if this is the reason it made them feel a bit more sluggish or if it was the weight. Anyways, I'm excited about seeing how they hold up. I'll keep you updated (yeah right).
(hint: get them through QBP at your LBS, especially if you're an employee)

Swam in the ocean for a while in Key West over thanksgiving break. It was great. Try it.

I'm gearing up for finals. Yeah, I'm trying.

Turns out I'm going to France this summer. Tell me what to do there.

Here:

I was thankful for you for Thanksgiving.

Chris crosses

I'm trying cyclocross.

Tally race next weekend will be my first. I'm thinkin' it should be a lot of fun.

Further down the road is Southern Cross, put on by 55Nine (Eddie and Nam).
That race should be a lot of fun. Some fast fast people are going, I'm pretty excited. Come watch if you're in the area. Some people to watch out for:
-Jim Smart: Florida MTB Veteran, will kick your dick in any day without warning
-Brett Miller: local/state fast roadie. Legs like a horse. Wily like multiple foxes.
-Duncan "The Narc" Narcolitz: He's riding fixed, don't worry about it, unless your fingers are in his drivetrain.
-Mike Boyco: UF team rider, I think he's fast, rides for team S(uck)MyD(...).
-Andy Applegate: goes fast
-Ernesto: same
-Prosser: as well
Bunch of other people going that I'm sure I don't know about. We've got a good rep from Florida going. I'm almost positive Jim will win SS and Duncan will win Fixed Cat (by default, duh). Open should be interesting blahblahblah free beer afterwards.
